What's In My Bag - Chapter 1

Berkeley and I are Minneapolis, Minnesota bound tomorrow! I can't wait.

It saddens me to know that I haven't been back to my home state in 7 years. I hate how time can slip by before we even realize it, so quickly and quietly.

I am looking forward to spending time with my sister and her family as well as getting to see a few other relatives. Something else I am looking forward to is going to the Minnesota State Fair.... After watching INSIDER's video of Sweet Martha's bucket of cookies a few years ago I just had to put it on my bucket list (no pun intended!). I can't even begin to tell you how giddy I am. 🤤 It's going to be so hard to decide what else I want to eat, there are so many good food choices! Lastly, this will be B's first airplane ride and I am so excited to see how she reacts. Everyone asks me if I'm nervous for the plane adventure and the truth is, no. I have put so much thought into this, that I hope getting through the airport and entertaining her on the plane will be as smooth as it is playing through my mind.

Here's a few things that I am going to be bringing along with me:

  1. Trader Joe's Rose Water Facial Toner
Good bye stuffy, stale, dry airplane air!
  2. Travel size L'Occitane Beautifying Favorites.
Having lived in Texas for the past 11 years my skin has grown accustom to the constant moisture in the air, so I know I will most likely be very dry while I'm up there. The body oil especially will be a life saver!
  3. {True Lemon} Wildberry Lemonade, {True Lime} Black Cherry Limeade and Stur Simply Strawberry Watermelon.
I'm a big water drinker but it's nice to mix things up a bit and to encourage more water intake. Staying hydrated in general is really important but even more so when traveling. On another note, I have tried so many many different natural water enhancers and these two brands are hands down my favorite.
  4. Sanitizing Wipes.
Being sick while on vacation is miserable so I'm going to do my absolute best to keep those lurking germs away.
  5. Portable Charger
I don't have this exact same one (mine is old) but its the same brand and close in other ways. Between having to wait at the gate to board, the plane ride and waiting on luggage I'm going to go ahead and say that I won't be putting a limit on screen time.
  6. Noise Canceling headphones
Berkeley is such a light/particular sleeper (Michael says she gets it from me 🤷‍♀️ ). I am hoping that IF she falls asleep on the plane that I will be able to sneak these on her in hopes that she stays asleep for a little while. Probably wishful thinking on my part.
  7. Lint roller.
Denalli, my husky's hair seems to always follow us where ever we go.
  8. White noise machine
It can be hard to sleep at other people's homes so taking a sound machine and our own pillows make it a little more familiar.
  9. Extra contacts.
I'm so paranoid that my contacts are either going to fall out or rip and that I'm going to be stuck wearing my glasses. #blindpeopleproblems
  10. Luggage scale. https://amzn.to/2PHit3D
Never have a bag over the weight limit again!

Some people love packing, others hate it. I fall more into the first category only now that I have a child it takes me twice as long. What category do you fall in? Do you love packing? Hate it? Somewhere in between?

Alison
