My 2023 Reading List
If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.
— J.K. Rowling

I never considered myself a reader. I liked the idea of reading and occasionally I’d pick up a book but it was always a struggle. The book may or may not have been cracked open once only then to sit and collect dust, an object on display.

3 years ago, born out of necessity, I officially became a reader. I blame (or should I say give credit to) it on moving during Covid to a different state, where we knew no one. Books became a form of a lifeline, an escape, a friend.

Books are such a personal experience and journey and honestly largely depend on mood and (life) circumstances. I may not enjoy a book as much as I would have if I had picked it up at a different time.
I don’t set reading goals, I don’t review or rate, I try not to overly critique the books what I read, instead allowing parts to speak to me or to just simply be the escape from reality that I need as well as to shake things up and get me out of my comfort zone - to challenge me, my way of thinking and my thoughts, to learn and grow.
